Gene, I called Saito he remembers there were between 12 and 18 pieces found. Some were damaged, maybe 10 good ones out of the bunch.

The found chips may or may not be sample chips. No one knows for sure. The owner may have rejected the color. Don't know.

The fact the owner did not have any black ones (when Mike S. bought the sets from him) doesn't mean anything. Owners often don't remember anything about their chips.
