RARE ARODIE'S!!

I want to tell you about a chip call from one of our nationally run ad's in a major magazine. I received a phone call on this $1 Fremont Arodie Wreath design
chip(the extremely worn one which is worse than even Rene's gem!) Apparently the arodie is not only a favorite of most collectors now but was cherished when made. These chips with their numerically numbered dice & boomerang arrows are so unique in themselves. Now back to my story. The man calling with this chip stated that it was a bit used & rounded but had what he thought I meant were arrows & dice. He said the center was a little scraped but it was marked Fremont. Well we made a deal & I mailed him $100. I never dreampt that a chip could get this worn! This was someones lucky charm for 40 years apparently! Well we accepted what we got & when it came to choosing chips I choose this one as needed it for my collection. Later I was fortunate to pick up a better one as shown in almost uncirculated condition. The diffence CAN be seen in the scan on my computer so hope it shows as well on yours along with the other rare chips I thought I would show to add some excitement to this board.

The negativeness I have been told off, seriously do not have time to read the posts & many I dont want to read, lately is ridiculous. Now I hear some think I am out to ruin our wonderful hobby by writing a book & putting more into this than I bet most have ever put into any project they have done in life. I am 31 years old & happy to say I have accomplished my dream & goal of writing a history book. A book I was told "we" the hobby needed. I heard this for years & luckily became friends with someone willing to share the huge task. We, along with input of nearly all major collectors actually did something. I don't know of anything bigger that can be done to help the hobby besides putting more positive work forth. I really would like to ask you people on here to do something creative to help grow this hobby & our club. If you don't like part of my book then don't read it or don't use the grading system, it too is also a guide. Many things in life are there to guide us whether in the right or wrong direction is your individual choice. Most know my goals & they are positive.

What I got on here to say is let's have fun! Also want to say I do buy chips in bad condition I need. I also buy LE's I like, this I luckily don't have to worry about condition on. The grading can be used on LE's but is intended for use on used chips as if a chip is "mint" you wouldn't need to grade it more than just eyeing it. If you are spending big bucks on a chip, as many now are, then I believe you will make a grade in your mind even a mental note of damage which may distract from a chips appearance & of course value. If anyone wants to offer megabucks for my rare arodie, in a condition that is hard to describe, but for a unique used chip which has more history than one could imagine, then place your bids. I probably wouldn't sell it though as it is too full of history & everyone who knows me knows thats what got me into all this; Nevada history. No chips pictured are for sale just wanted to show all the cool chips Fremont has to offer. Maybe someday I can scan other rare Sands chip with the arodie I hope to soon own, the Au one that is! Actually most of you have our book & there's plenty of rare pictures in there. By the way the second book is almost done on our part but it will take the new publisher months to finish everything in hopes to have it out for our convention. Big changes & additions just wait!

I probably won't have time to check responses so if you want to reach me send a note to my personal email at jcampi@anv.net & I will get back to you late at night when I have finished a full days work & then some on our second edition of our "The Official U.S. Casino Chip Price Guide".
