New Florida Boat.

I and my fellow Florida chipper, braved high seas, dodged tankers & ocean liners, took the day off from the office, just to sail on the newest day cruise boat to depart from Florida waters. With eager anticipation of new chips & tokens, we drove to downtown Miami to the Ramada Dupont Plaza, where the Casino Miami & the El Dorado had once sailed until they left for who knows where. There, docked at the same location, was the ocean going scow, the Aladdin Casino boat. The scow appeared top heavy & about to roll over on it's port side, before the lines were unattached. It the spirit of true salts, we went aboard but positioned ourselves near the closest muster station we could find. With the 10 passengers safely seated, off we went into the Atlantic Ocean. I did walk to the aft part of the boat & noticed a life ring with the name "MV Victori". That sounded familiar. I sat with the casino manager on our way out to the 3 mile limit & was told that the boat had once sailed from a port in South Carolina & was now owned by the same group that operates the Monte Carlo Cruiser, which sails from Pompano Beach. As we conversed about chips, casinos & other tall tales, he asked if we knew a Gene Trimble. I SWEAR!! He gave us all of the juicy tidbits about Gene's early life in Kentucky & his move to Las Vegas where he & his wife finally settled. After yawning a few times to give him a hint that I was not really interested in ancient history, we got on to more interesting topics. In the racks on the tables, & I hope you are sitting down, were $1, $5, $25, $100 & $500 chips from, are you ready for this, REGENCY CRUISES!!! These were the same chips that were available at the Las Vegas Paulson store for $.65 each! I had quick visions of a home in Barbados or St. Kitts, a condo in Aruba, a new car & many more Hard Rock pins that I could ever want. Just as quickly I decided to tell the manager that his rack was not secure & that there are chips from this rack floating around with many collectors. He seemed surprised, but did write down the information we provided him in his black book. He did ask for our names, which I think he also noted for future reference. I did hear him mention sharks & broken knees, but I gave it no mind as I thought he was referring to the Broken Knee Casino located in Shark Valley, Wyoming! His meaning did hit me a few hours later. Anyway, that's the story of the chip rack that is currently on board. I have a strong feeling, that if this boat remains in Miami, they will have a new rack very shortly! Not to forget token collectors, they were using $.25, $1 & $5 tokens from Casino Ventures. Sorry for the long story, but I thought this would clear up part of the mystery surrounding this rack of chips, which will now be attributed to 2 Florida boats, a boat from South Carolina, a card room in California & the Las Vegas Paulson store. We can now most assurdedly confirm that REGENCY CRUISES chips have & are now being used in an operating casino. How long is anybody's guess.
