As a relative new comer to the world of chip consumtion I would like to know, from those of you who have been at the hobby for some time, how the action on eBay has affected chip prices. I see new releases skyrocket to 3-400% markup overnight...I know the laws of supply and demand dictate what the market will bear, but this has to have an overall effect througout the hobby. It often appears that many new releases go high at first then after the dust settles ease off to a more reasonable valuation. The recent action on the Riviera Porno Set is a prime example. They were selling as high as $280 a set at first and recently I saw one sit there unsold at $125. How do you place a valuation on such swings...this is more volatile than my mutual funds....
