Clint Hubbard's letter didn't ...

... "rip" anyone, Michael & Harry, and appeared to me to be very carefully written to avoid giving that impression. It contained what I believe to be constructive criticism and forthright suggestions for improvement.

For more than 30 years, I have earned my way in the world by communicating with others, sometimes orally, but usually in writing (I was a Navy Public Affairs officer for four years, worked in advertising & public relations for nearly five years and have spent the last 24 as a lawyer). I have written literally thousands of news releases, articles, columns, letters, legal briefs, poems, short stories and even an (unpublished) novel.

I acknowledge and appreciate the hard work that Kregg Herz puts into the club magazine and would prefer to see it, typos and all, to not having it. Nevertheless, I agree completely with the comments that Clint made in his letter, particularly the observation that the quality of the publication is a reflection of the quality of the organization.

I do not see this as a problem with the magazine's editor, but it is a problem (albeit a relatively minor one) with the club leadership, which ought to be finding a way to provide Kregg the assistance necessary to make the magazine a truly first class publication.

Therefore, as Travis Lewin has already done, I will offer to assist in proofreading the magazine (or anything else she needs help with) and will send Kregg an email to that effect tonight. ----- jim o\-S
