Re: 1999 MOST PROGRESSIVE CHIP
In Response To: 1999 best Reno chip ()

I believe another landmark chip (Sailboat- Harrah's 1990) will be noted inthe history of chipping with the very limited edition Hot Aug. Nites Reno Hilton $5 with the Kahlua ad one side. The idea came from hot sales of the Bud Ice chips with the Penquin at Lake Tahoes Harrahs. Jim Roets of the Reno Hilton got Kahlyua to sponsor the chip, produce a very nice ticket for a free Kahlua Drink from the bar on a nice looking Hot Aug Nites Chipco and limited the production to 250 of the $25 and 1750 of the $5. Sold like crazy, Kahlua sale went up because players often order the same drink after the first, and the casino made big bucks without even having to pay for the chip costs. More casinos and distributors will be on the bandwagon and I believe a new specialty of ad chips from rack play chips will be the next mania. The guy that gets ahold of Nike and Reebocks as well as auto manufacturers will make a pot of gold with the idea if someone can get a license on the idea. How about our National Club? OOOHHHH am I gonna git it now. Leaving town for a few months....Bruce
