from the opening of the new Seminole Indian Casino in Cocomut Creek, FL. It opened at 5 PM tonight. I got there about 5:20 and there no parking spaces left. I finally parked illegally and went to see if I could get some new chips. There were TV reporters all over the place. There were people waiting on line to get to the slot machines. Every one was taken.
I went to the poker room and they were just setting up. I got a really nice pit boss and he let me buy whatever chips I wanted. They have $.25, $.50, $1 and $5. There was no GO chip. The chips are Chipco and are very nice, There are 2 palm trees and a lavendar sky. Unfortunately, I have not yet mastered the knack of scanning to the web. I can email a scan, so if anyone wants to volunteer, I will email a scan and maybe you can post it on the BB.
If anyone is interested in buy a set, please email me privately. These chips are NOT RARE, but they are MINT since the poker room had not opened yet.
As a note, Florida does not allow gaming except for low stakes poker on indian reservations, yet the place was mobbed. I don't want to imply that the State is missing the boat, but you don't have to be a rocket scientist to see how much people want casinos and how the State could profit. Oh well, I'll just keep paying my taxes.
