Files with spaces will upload but some browsers will have trouble seeing them.

Longer than 8 characters is no problem.

The upload software confirms to you that the file was uploaded and even gives you a byte count.

No, no waiting period, it is there immediately.

With all that said, you are always better off to use ONLY lower case letters, no spaces and a nice short file name.
