This could be the only true counterfit I have ever seen.
Passed in the early 60's.
The inlay has slight differences from the real ones, very slight. I have been researching the origin of this chip for several years. Hope to write the story some day. It is the actual chip obtained from the manfacturer, and an inlay made elsewhere. Many were sold into the hobby as the real chip. They were not made to fool the hobby. They were made to rip the casino off. I believe the chip came out of St Louis. I believe there are other chips like this in the hobby, and we have yet to see the slight differences.
I believe a major distributor was involved.
