EBAY PRIVACY AUCTIONS 'friendly input'

Just something to throw out for your input. As most of you know we run about 150 auctions a week on ebay with no reserves 99% of the time. We have been giving some thought to going to what ebay terms "privacy auctions". These auctions are were the bidder's identity are protected from the public. My reasons for doing this are two fold. Both of which are not easy to talk about. The first is a part of what was talked about earlier today on the board. I list a chip that worth $100.00 in chip rack and a great person we all like is high bidder at my normal opening bid of $9.95. I don't get the action on the chip that I get at other times. The next week I relist again and the chip bring $73.00. I'm not complaining or asking any of you not to bid. Just looking for your input on going to "privacy auctions". I might add I also will not over bid a friend or a good customer. Thus I stay out of many auctions that I would take a shot at. So I do understand all to well and would never ask anyone to change.
Now to my main reason. My second reason is it seems that I have a following from other sellers. In this case I list a $22.00 chip and it sells for $31.00. My second high bidder in some cases is getting as many as 5 emails offering to sell them a chip. IS THIS RIGHT?? I did the work, took the chance listing the chip for $9.95 and give ebay about $1000.00 a month in comms. It's very rare "scarce" that we sell a chip on ebay that we only have one of. Many times we let our second, third and even forth high bidders know that we have relisted another of the same chip. Some tell us,well I just brought one from so in so.They email me offering the chip.I DO UNDERSTAND THE BUYERS ACTIONS. So our listing is up a second week and none of the backup 3-4 bidders rebid?? Anyway, I have a very one sided view. I sell chips because I enjoy the buying and selling. Meeting many great people and get great pleasure from the hobby. Making the most money is not inportant. The first issue I totaly understand, the second issue, it bothers me doing the work and others gaining from our labor. Would enjoy everyones input on these two very different issues. Good hunting to ALL. STOP BY AZ. CHARLIE'S SHOW AND SAY HIGH AND PICK-UP YOUR FREE CUBA CREST & SEAL CHIP.WHILE SUPPLY LASTS.MY WAY OF SAYING THANKS TO ALL WHO POST AND KEEPING "ME" AND THE CHIP WORLD INFORMED.THEY JUST ARRIVED...Thanks Mike
