Today I received a call from a collector who told me about several varieties of Nevada Silver Strike(SPT) tokens he got while in Las Vegas.

One that stuck out BIG TIME is one from the Gold Coast. The outer ring is identical to the one you see on the token I've pictured here.

YES this pictured token WAS definately tampered with.... I did it.... took an outer ring from a Grand Casino Mississippi(Reverse was the Mardi Gras
design) and inserted the Carson Valley Inn center into it. The outer ring reads the same on both sides.

These damned outer rings.... If the Minden casino were still playing their Silver Strikes I wonder how easy it would be to (SALT) cash this token
back into play? And have someone else win it later and hold extra copies in my possession to sell later.

This is exactly what I've been afraid of regarding these outer rings.

OK Silver Striker's what can we do to avoid this? I am not, sure but not paying PREMIUM $$$ for these tokens is one way to avoid these tokens,
TAMPERED with or NOT!
