Some history from Belgian Jetons

To my fellow chippers depenting on your reaction, I will post once in a while some more information like this. The jeton you see below came into play when the Casino of Oostende was taken over by Mr. Van Biervliet on the 1 Jan 1974. He changed the whole rack. This 5 BEF jeton was used to collect a 3% tax which was deducted from the winnings at the Roulette with no ZERO table.
With the new law on the modern Gamingrules this tax was stopped on the 1 Jan 1978. Thus the jetons where only used a good 3,5 year.
