The chip is also part of the last series used at the
casino. It was made to replace the previous 500f
chip that was revalued in 1961, when a comma was
added (5,00) to the denomination conforming with the
French Monitary Reform Act of 1960 when every 100
French francs then became 1 New Franc (N.F.). Most
lower denominations are very common and are usually
listed on International price lists for about $10 to
$15. There have been about fourteen casinos in Nice
in the last 100-years or so, and we only know of
chips and plaques from just a few of them. The only
operating casino in Nice at the moment is Casino
Ruhl. A list and dates of operations of the other
Nice casinos may be found in the bb archive.
