I was in AC Friday night to wrap up some loose ends with chips I needed.....

1. I went to the Trop to get 2 $100 chips for friends. The roulette dealer said how many do you want? I said 2, gave him the $200 and walked away with 2 without a problem. The chip is real nice. Both were for friends and I had to send them off before one ended up in my binder. I don't collect $100 chips. When my wife saw it, the first thing out of her mouth was "cool", several times. She even said I should put one in my collection. This is from a person that thinks this whole chip collecting thing is a waste of time and money. Maybe she was turned on by the $100 on one side. Who knows.

2. Was in the Claridge and saw Millennium chips and Seasons Greeting chips still on the table. I believe they are making 500 $10 chips and 1500 $5 chips. They used to go like hot cakes. Something tells me supply has caught up with demand in AC. There are only so many collectors and when they pump them out like they did in December, people have to make decisions. And those decisions are usually cut back or quit. NOT buy more. I've heard it from several collectors this last month that the Millennium chip craze was just way toooooooooooooo much for the average collector. I hope LE chip production slows down this year but I doubt that it will. Some people are to slow to learn that sometimes too much of something is not always good............How can it be good for the hobby if a lot of people cut back in their collecting habits because of too many chips to choose from?

3. Went into Caesars to pick up some of the $25 Millennium chips. Couldn't find any anywhere. The tables were full of people so they had no desire to look for chips. Now I'm quite sure there are plenty back in the cage. Wouldn't it make sense to keep a couple stacks on one of the big six tables for the collectors? How in the hell do they expect the collectors to get these chips? Why make them if you're not going to make it easy or even possible to get them? What other business makes a product and makes it so damn difficult to buy? Simply amazing.
