These 4 $1 Golden Nugget chips are difficult to describe the differences
except for N8461, which has the "R" Registered mark. The dates in the
"Inlay Description" column are the issue dates, listed to help to ID the chip.
If the date was on the chip, it would be in quotes. Your chip is N1729, issued in 1985.

Starting with the 6th Ed., we added "Pictorials" to show the differences
in hard to describe chips. We have the photos of the .25 chips but failed
to include photos of the $1 chips. Should be in next years edition.
