The Nationals that Travis is talking about are the old Syracuse Nationals. I think they where in Syracuse from the very late 40s to the mid 50s.
My late uncle who was a professional bowler knew the owner of the Nats, who also owned Bowling Alleys in Syracuse The owner Joe Barone was the inventor of the 24 second clock used in the NBA today. You could look it up. I remember as a small boy my uncle taking me to Nats games at the old Syracuse War Memorial bldg..
