Because of it's significance as "Y2K" and being the last year of the second millennium, the Royal Observatory Greenwich and others have declared 2000 to be the "Millennium Year." So chips that simply state "Millennium 2000" are not necessarily in error. Just the ones delaring 2000 to be the "new" millennium, or the "new" century, or the "21st" century.
