Part 3: About those Paris jetons...

On Sunday night, after 7:00pm when game opens, I spoke with the French Roulette manager who runs the game at Paris. He did confirm that they don't want chips harvested at this time, because they need them to run the game. Quite a few have been removed by collectors, and they don't have many to spare. HOWEVER, he did say that he is placing an order for more chips from B & G, which are expected to arrive in February or March. He assured me that the game is doing well and that the rumor that it might be removed is entirely false. While he declined my request to purchase chips at this time, he asked that I be patient and ask again after the new shipment arrives. (I assume the new shipment will be identical to the current jetons, though the design could always change.)

While anything can happen, I'm optimistic that jetons WILL be available for open purchase off the table if we're patient for a few months… at least that's what I plan to do.

If the price premium drops to the "standard" mark-ups for other chips (that is, a $5 jeton for $8-$9; a $10 jeton for $13-15; etc.) I would consider buying them on the market. Otherwise, I'm content to wait and see what happens. No guarantees, but just presenting some info for your consideration.
