Re: WHAT A DIFERENCE A "FEW" YEAR S MAKE

Today's $25 chips may be tomorrow's $100's. Here's a classic example. Not too many years ago, one had to search pretty hard to find a casino with a slot machine higher than $5 tokens. In fact, the highest denomination token that Playboy EVER used was $1. When Playboy became Atlantis.... the only token that Atlantis used was the $1 Playboy's. Harrah's at Trump Plaza had only $1 tokens. Brighton (now Sands) never even had a $1 token.... and Caesars Boardwalk Regency only had $1 tokens. When Trump Castle originally opened with Hilton chips and tokens.... the highest denomination token in the place was the lowly $1. Golden Nugget only had up to $5 slot tokens. Today, every casino in A.C. (except Claridge) has $100 slot machines .... some like Caesars have $500 machines. As the economy of this country expanded and disposable income grew, along with gaming budgets and table limits ... so did the collectors pocketbooks. How many collectors collect $25 chips today? I would say a hell of a lot more than 100.... and there will be even more tomorrow. Tropicana in Atlantic City will be issuing (500)$100 Millennium chips in a couple of weeks! No, don't hurry down... I'm sure there will be plenty for everyone well into the new year!
