I guess I'm confused. Using your logic we would mail ballots to all the members to decide where to have the Convention and any other action the Club takes.

Think of it from a logistical standpoint. It's far too expensive to send out 2300 +/- sets of color scans, especially to many people who don't care. The magazine can't be used. The first issue of the year has a submission deadline of Decmber 1 before all the year's chips have been issued. The second magazine has a deadline of March 1. If it's mailed April 15 many won't receive it until May 1. You have to have a 30 day reponse time which gets the ballots back by June 1. Except for this year the Convention is usually in the first two weeks of June. That's leaves two weeks to tally the ballots, invite the winners, and get the plaques done. It just is too cumbersome to do in two weeks. If the printer is late the problem is even worse.

I'm know neither of us is going to change the others mind. I would hope your future comments could be constructive and not personal attacks against Archie because a proposal you made was not immediately accepted. Take care.
