Woodland Inn Walton, KY

With all of the speed problems on the board lately (which have disappeared today<G>) you may not have seen the information about a new find of chips from the Newport, KY area. So here goes. Glenn "Bulldog" Wright owned the Club Keenland located at 11th and Madison in Covington, KY. Covington is next to Newport and they are both just across the river from Cincinatti. Around 1958 the Club was raided and his equipment removed. He decided to move his operation to Walton, KY and ended up at the Woodland Inn. This operation lasted about four years until 1962-63 when most of the illegal gambling establishments in the area were closed. The chips used at the Woodland Inn are shown in the attached scan. The two chips on the left are both Brown but one is definetely darker than the other. The darker one could be a reorder since it appears to be almost unused. The Light Brown chip is in excellent used condition. The Red chip is in very good readable condition but the Gold in the HS is worn off. I have a few of each available for $20 per chip or $55 for the set of three.
